At Green Light Creative we believe in the power of design not only to transform spaces but also to uplift communities and make a positive impact on the world around us. We are proud to have been invited by the wonderful, talented team at Liquidity Marketing and Communications to assist with "One Sunny Race Day". An event that combines the thrill of racing with the joy of giving back. There are days when the spirit of generosity takes the reins and leads us to remarkable heights. Such was the case at the recent event where over 500 attendees gathered for a day of excitement, camaraderie, and philanthropy at the races. The final tally revealed a staggering achievement—over $125,000 raised for RMHCSEQ. It was a moment of triumph, a testament to what can be accomplished when individuals come together with a shared purpose. Another amazing event by the team a Liquidity Marketing and Communications!

For updates on our training and progress on the day, follow our instagram: @green_light_creative_go Here at Green Light Creative, we take safety seriously! The team recently underwent training to bring everyone up to speed on the latest in Workplace Health and Safety procedures, and now we’re all pros!
WH&S is mandatory to ensure a safe workplace both physically and mentally, and the GLC team are excited to implement our knowledge within our office and on every site visit, sign installation and job that takes place. We take extra care to maintain WH&S relationships with all our clients and providers, and keep everything on file to keep every situation safe! A quick recap of our latest addition is the consistent appraisal of each job and its safety risks. We either classify a job as HIGH or LOW risk and apply codes and practices that pertain to each! We have prepared a full WH&S document that covers all the work we currently manage and encourage you to peruse through it should you wish to see how we commit to safety. It seems we completely missed posting any updates in 2020... oops!
There are so many reasons why. But the main one is due to us working on a new website in the background... We are back on track now with a beautiful new website! And we're in a new bigger office! It was time we got a couch and a drinks fridge, so we moved directly upstairs to Studio 8 Bakery Lane! It is light and airy and wonderful! Please drop by and visit us soon. Our new address: Studio 8 Bakery Lane 694 Ann Street Fortitude Valley QLD 4006 Each year Green Light Creative gives to charities that have affected our staff in some way. We hope that our contributions can help with research and support the people we love, as well as the greater community. Fiona has donated to the Lung Foundation. This year has been challenging and difficult for one of our extended team members. We hope that by donating to the Lung Foundation, this is just one more way we can help make a difference.
Joanne has donated to Dreams2Live4. A visionary program that realises the dreams of patients living with Metastatic cancer, Dreams2Live4 have granted a wish for Joanne’s own father. She hopes that by donating, she can continue to support others and help create beautiful memories and happy moments in times that matter most. Karley has donated to Beyond Blue. After a year that has seen staggering rates of anxiety and depression, Beyond Blue are doing the necessary work to provide the information and support needed to help everyone in Australia achieve their best possible mental health. Nellie has donated to the Pyjama Foundation. Every child deserves to feel safe and secure, loved and wanted. She hopes that by donating, she can help children in foster care experience meaningful relationships with “Pyjama Angels” and improve their lives with learning, meaningful life skills, and confidence. Rachel has donated to the Rett Syndrome Association of Australia. Seen almost exclusively in females, Rett syndrome is a genetic disorder in which the brain does not mature in the way it should. Rachel hopes that by donating, she can help enhance the quality of life for people with Rett syndrome and create a better future through research and raising awareness. Sam has donated to the Animal Welfare League Queensland. In 2019/2020 their shelters cared for over 8,000 homeless animals, reunited 2,052 lost animals with their families and rehomed 5,878 animals providing them a second chance at life – one of which was Sam’s cat Humphrey! John has donated to Motor Neuron Disease Australia. MND Australia works with a national network of State MND Associations to advocate, educate and raise awareness. Their goal is to empower Australians impacted by MND to live better for longer. The Green Light Creative team celebrated the end of 2020 with a cooking class at the Golden Pig in Newstead. We swapped our high-vis vests for aprons and got dirty cooking up a Middle Eastern inspired feast. With a set menu of exquisite entrees to start us off, we got to cooking! We learnt new ways to cook up fresh produce, choice cuts of protein, fragrant spices, and lush herbs.
We like to know what’s going on at each level of a project’s process. So, we decided to go and visit some of our print partners to really understand just how our design and content make it onto pages and into our client’s hands. Print Partner #1 Greeted by our first print partner, we are ushered into a warehouse filled with machines. Some machines look ancient and we are stunned to learn that they are still fully in use. Other machines are new, with silky fresh paper cycling through CMYK colour cylinders and coming out the other end printed with precision. We learn about each machine’s purpose and are captivated by a guillotine machine that crisply slices through large stacks of paper as if they are nothing. Most impressive of all was a half-a-room-sized printer that is the only one of it's kind in the Southern Hemisphere. It specialises in super high quality prints and the team amaze us with a few samples that demonstrate its incredible, high definition capabilities. Print Partner #2 Our next print partner specialises in billboards, banners, vinyl and all manner of signage! Walking us through their job process, we get an idea of just how many elements need to come together to ensure a perfect print outcome every time. They cycle through their projects at lightning speed without ever compromising on quality. We are stunned by the sheer scale of the machinery involved in their work! Taking up a series of massive warehouses, this print partner was super impressive! Print Partner #3
Our final print partner is super passionate about the beautiful world of foiling! We are wowed by the incredible selection of colours and finishes available and the ability to make everything look that bit more special and luxurious. A custom foiling stamp is made for each job and as we watch an engineer pulls a single page from a machine to make sure the foil has been printed correctly. He can tell if it’s off by even the tiniest amount and it needs to be perfect! Foiling leaves a lasting impression of luxury and class and adds an extra dimension to your product, positioning your brand above the rest when it comes to authority and prestige. Now it's time to share all our knowledge with you! We look forward to helping you with your next print! This was a Green Light Creative project that was months in the making, the idea was thought of in the midst of quarantine. The loneliness and uncertainty felt during those times made us all realise just how much we missed hugging people. It’s a natural human act and something we all need, especially when the going gets tough.
So, we decided the safest way to let people know we were thinking of them was by sending them a hug. A hug in a mug includes a delectable hot chocolate that’ll wrap you in warmth, mini marshmallows for those extra xoxo’s we all missed receiving, and a custom designed mug that perfectly fits in your hand for optimum comfort, all wrapped up in our signature green woven fabric and individually tagged ribbon. With three designs that symbolise our love, we are so excited to give our partners a hug this Christmas. Georgie is one of our illustrators who got stuck in one of the central hotspots of the pandemic – New York City. From across the pond, we asked her to illustrate something that signifies a hug – something we all sorely need after this year. Inspired by the traditional story of the tortoise and the hare, Georgie thought it was the perfect story for the trials of quarantine. Coming together, we forgot about the marathon and encouraged each other to keep going. Picking up the injured and banning together to stop the spread, we have all carried or been carried through this tumultuous year. The tortoise and hare is a parable for the modern day quarantined world we now live in, and if they can overcome the marathon to finish together, so can we. Tanya is one of our other illustrators, based in Sydney. We asked her for illustrations that represent hugs, and she gave us two designs that induce the same warmth in the belly one gets when hugged by a loved one. Cheers to 2021 and may we all experience soul-warming and smile-inducing hugs! The Green Light Creative Team had the pleasure of attending a Mas & Miek Pottery Workshop for our 2019 Christmas Party. We loved getting a little dirty and using our hands. It was a very enjoyable and zen morning and something we are all keen to try again. This week, we picked up our creations... Christmas Love
Each year Green Light Creative gives to charities that have affected our staff in some way. We hope that our contributions can help with research and support for people (and animals) we love, as well as the greater community. We had the pleasure working on everything from billboards, banners and baseball t-shirts to shipping containers, sales offices and a sprinkle cloud in 2019! It is so hard to choose just a few - but here are some highlights from 2019...
It has been an absolute pleasure working with you and we are looking forward to another busy year ahead!
Green Light Creative has competed the Hootsuite Platform Certification!
We are all set up and ready to roll our your next social media campaign. We LOVE the annual ice-cream festival! It is a chance to come up with some super fun and playful signs.
Thank you to the team at West Village for letting up go crazy and to the team at Liquidity for continually making this event great! As well as out of the box popsicle directionals, interactive voting walls and over sized ice cream props, this year we also got to make a "sprinkle shower" complete with a cloud. This was so much fun and an exciting challenge. Great architecture starts with a vision. Back in 2017, Green Light Creative was tasked with bringing a project at Northshore Hamilton to life. We saw the opportunity to make an information hub into something so much more: a vibrant and inviting space that doesn’t just inform you about the future, it inspires you. The resulting building — The Deck Northshore — has gone well beyond the brief to collect a swathe of architecture awards throughout 2018. Award Winning Design In functional terms, the building is a roof that links two connected pods below (housing an amenities block and an information hub). But we delivered so much more: the The Deck's slanted canopy of weathered ironbark boards — made from recycled wharf timbers — frames the river, creates shade and connects Northshore’s past to its future. The Deck has captured the hearts of Northshore’s visitors and earned the building numerous architectural awards, including:
On time, on budget, inspired For this project, Green Light Creative were contracted to find a solution for our client (EDQ) who wanted a space to communicate their future vision for the Northshore Hamilton site to the public. The building would need to be temporary (able to be removed or moved as the precinct evolves), to fit with both the river and nearby Eat Street, and be functional — housing both an information centre and an amenities block. The project had a tight budget and the site was challenging, but throughout, Green Light Creative worked tirelessly to keep the projecton budget and moving along on time. The client was picturing a shipping container fitout to act as an information hub next to the popular Eat Street precinct. We thought outside the box (outside the shipping container, you could say) and took our inspiration from recycled wharf timbers from the site’s history. We brought architect Anna O’Gorman on board, and she conceived a stunning small, modular design that ditched the shipping containers and instead connected the building to its site and surroundings by framing the river in the recycled grey ironbark timbers. Anna and Green Light Creative then chose Charles Warren Construction for the build, and the old wharf timbers were processed by Kennedy's Timber. To bring the architect’s vision to life, we managed all suppliers and the team worked under challenging site conditions to deliver a breath-taking, award-winning outcome. The efforts of this team were second to none and choosing this dream team certainly taught us a lot and ensured that an amazing end product was delivered! We were truely fortunate to find such talent to bring onboard for this project. The Deck is not just an information hub built from the past that informs you about the future, a beautiful place to chill in the shade by the river, and an award-winning architectural triumph.
We wrote a draft post in March.... Proofed the draft in April and then WOW here we are in December.
It has been a massive year with a a few research trips thrown in for good measure! Fiona has been on the road to find inspiration and check out what the rest of the world is doing when it comes to all things signage. Check out our feed at @greenlightcreative_on_the_road We will keep adding to this insta page as we find more inspiration on the road. While it is hard to choose from all our exciting work - we love variety so our highlights are; Lend Lease King Street Gobo Projection - using some supplied artwork from Gilimbaa we had the job of turning the work into projectable slides. They were displayed for NAIDOC week along King Street. Oracle Platinum Homes Printed Brochures - With the launch of a refreshed logo for Oracle Platinum Homes we were excited to help them redesign their product brochure of 102 pages! Sekisui House West Village Van Wrap - We had the fun job of designing a van wrap for a new moving service by Sekisui House, West village. Frasers Brookhaven Banner Mesh - We built a new fence and installed over 1.5km of new banner mesh at Brookhaven! EPIC! West Village Ice Cream Festival - 2018 kicked off with this annual festival. Although a little bit of rain threatened the day, it went off without a hitch! From interactive walls, 3D ice-creams, directional signs, maps, stickers we got to print and install it all! Satterley Smithfield Estate - Possibly the fastest job in history! We launched a new logo, 12 billboards, display village banners and new sales office signs all in just 2 weeks! It was fast and furious but the result was awesome and a breath of fresh air to this Cairns estate signage which was looking very faded. Peet Event Signs - We did a range of corflute tent event signs for Peet estates around Brisbane. This style of sign is so good for events as they are super quick to print, easy to install and easy move around! They require very little install and can be used on grass or concrete with no fuss. High Street Underwriting Agency - Acrylic printed staff award trophies was something very different and they turned out perfectly. We also got to manage the production of a bookshelf with a secret hidden door (not pictured as it is secret). |
